Do you remember Grandpa’s Old Time Smoked Sausage? It cooked up red and full of spices. We still do our sausage the same way Grandpa did. Our sausage is all ground pork and smoked over hickory wood to give it that great smoked flavor. Great for Christmas breakfast or give this flavor filled smoked sausage in a one of a kind gift box.     Pos: I discovered Rice’s when our daughter and son in law moved to Mt. Juliet. I have purchased smoked pork sausage from three other compeditors over the years and while I don’t believe there is any such thing as bad smoked sausage, none compared to Rices. As a competitive BBQ cooker and Kansas City BBQ Society certified judge, I know a little about hickory smoke and highly recommend Rices Smoked Sausage. The texture, flavor and appearance of the cooked product is award winning in my book. I have given it as Christmas presents and as a result the recipients have now become Rice’s customers themselves. As far as that goes, one cannot go wrong with the country ham or pepper smoked bacon. Shopping there is like stepping back in time and is wonderful. Cons: The only con is the “Off Season” when the store is only open on Mondays.
